A 22-year-old Mankato man is accused of pulling a knife on the mother of his child during a domestic dispute on Wednesday.
Mankato Police say the victim said she and Randy Gessner had recently split up, and during an argument, he tried repeatedly to throw her to the ground, threw her cell phone across the room when she tried to call 911, then succeeded in pushing her down.
The criminal complaint shows that while the woman was still on the floor Gessner left the room and came back with a large kitchen knife and came back asking, “Is this what you really want?”
He left the home before the officer arrived but investigators say Gessner was pulled over in a traffic stop not long after.
Gessner denied assaulting the woman. He is charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, making threats of violence, interrupting a 9-1-1 call, and two counts of domestic assault.
