A Mankato woman is facing two counts of drunk driving after police say she pulled into the Burger King drive through on a flat tire, missed the pick-up window on the first try, parked the car on top of a curb stop, and then threw up.

A crew member reported the behavior of 33-year-old to Mankato Police, and by the time they arrived investigators say Kristine Cowing walked away from the car but was soon found nearby.

Cowing claimed she hadn’t been driving but police say the car in question was registered in her name.

The criminal complaint shows Cowing failed field sobriety tests and blew a .28 on a portable breath test.

In addition, Cowing told the arresting officer she had to get home because her children were there alone. MPD contacted their grandmother so she could care for them.
