A planned celebration of Greater Mankato Growth President & CEO Jonathan Zierdt ahead of his retirement on March 15 has been canceled
GMG officials say Zierdt’s recent hospitalization has prompted them to call off the Friday mixer.
Zeirdt’s medical team recently discovered more areas of active prostate cancer and also the spread of kidney cancer as well. He’s been battling the illnesses since 2013.
Jonathan’s wife Ginger posted to his CaringBridge page that they’ve told doctors that they want him to have the highest quality of life possible, not quantity of time. The post adds that Jonathan will be working with a hospice team upon leaving the hospital and they have determined that his life expectancy is between 3 and 6 months.
GMG officials are encouraging people to join the organization at its annual meeting on March 12th, where Jonathan will serve as keynote speaker and will be sharing his journey of leadership in the community as well as living #jzfullyalive!
The business meeting portion of the event is free, but the dinner/keynote portion is a ticketed event.
