An elderly woman was seriously hurt and two others were also injured in a crash in Mapleton on Wednesday.

Minnesota State Troopers said 82-year-old Clint Lindemann pulled out from eastbound 134th Street to head north on Highway 22, into the path of another vehicle. Investigators added that the other driver, 31-year-old Amanda Stevermer, tried to swerve but couldn’t avoid the collision.

Clint Lindeman and Stevermer were hurt but are expected to recover. Officials said Lindemann’s 80-year-old wife Dorothy, though, was taken to the Mayo Clinic campus in Rochester with injuries that appear to be life-threatening.

Two drivers are expected to recover after a separate crash north of Waseca, also on Wednesday.

Minnesota State Patrol said a 47-year-old Robert Carlson pulled his Prius into the path of an SUV on Highway 13 at 410th Avenue.

Troopers said Carlson and the other driver, 23-year-old Shantaya Olson, were both taken to the hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.
