On this day in 1967, the Rolling Stones hit number one on the U.S. singles chart with their song “Ruby Tuesday”.

The song became the band’s fourth number-one hit in the U.S. and cemented them in pop culture. Originally the song “Let’s Spend The Night Together” was the original A-side and single, but after radio stations banned that song, “Ruby Tuesday” became the official single.
