The state Health Department is stepping up enforcement of the governor’s COVID orders, particularly in the bar and restaurant arena, after receiving more than 100 complaints over the past week.   Health Commissioner Jan Malcolm says it’s not “gotcha” — but to protect customers and staff:

“And frankly, to increase our chances of keeping the spread of COVID to a low enough level that we can avoid pretty drastic dial-backs in what establishments are open and how they can operate.”

Malcolm says so far they’ve seen “pretty good receptivity” by establishments to enforcement actions, and appreciate them taking steps to correct problems.
