“The bill does not pass, having not received the required number of votes.”

The Minnesota Legislature adjourned its second special session of 2020 early this morning (Tues), again without passing a bonding bill for state public works projects. House Republicans don’t like a number of projects in the bill and their leader, Kurt Daudt, says they won’t vote for it until Governor Tim Walz gives up his COVID emergency powers:

“We’ll be back here in three weeks, and hopefully next time when you want our votes, you’ll actually include us in the negotiations, just like you told us you were gonna do.”

House Democratic Majority Leader Ryan Winkler calls Republicans’ demands a “stick-up”:

“Either give in and let a bunch of anti-vaxers, COVID-deniers, conspiracy theorists run Minnesota’s health care or you can’t have a jobs bill.”
