The Minnesota Zoo is now open for visitors. Zack Nuget says it has been a long time coming after being shut-down since March 14.

He says after opening for vehicle only traffic, now it is opened for foot visitors.

He says there are some things to remember as you plan your trip.

“You have to register online and reserve a time slot.”

He says the closure happened at the zoo’s busiest time.

“During the spring season and we are just glad to be able to welcome some visitors back.”

He says it’s great to restore this Minnesota tradition.

“For so many people going to the Minnesota Zoo is a summer family time tradition.”

He says there are about 5,000 different animals at the zoo
