Minnesota drivers are paying about 20 cents less than the national average for a gallon of gas, but that is little consolation as prices nationwide continue to rise.

According to data today from Gas Buddy Dot Com…the average price of a gallon in Minnesota sits just below three dollars and 60 cents. Some places in the state like Norwood-Young America, Lakeville and Rush City are seeing prices over three dollars and 70 cents per gallon. Pockets of gas below three dollars and 50 cents a gallon can be found in central Minnesota and a small chunk of St. Louis County. Gas prices have climbed nearly 50 cents higher in Minnesota than this time last year…and since January of 2021 the price of gas is on average 1.30 higher in Minnesota.
