The Friends of the Boy in Blue Civil War Memorial announce the date for the 9th annual Civil War Symposium. The symposium is a hybrid event (in-person event with a virtual online component), held on Saturday, March 26 from 9 am to 5 pm at the Morson-Ario-Strand VFW, 1900 No. Riverfront Dr. in Mankato.

 

The symposium theme is: “The Terrible Swift Sword: 1862”. Special guest speaker Dr. Nancy Koester, the author of Harriet Beecher Stowe: A Spiritual Life, will present Harriet Beecher Stowe Meets Abraham Lincoln. There are speakers, costumed interpreters, Civil War era music, exhibits, books and authors, panel discussions, and a drawing.

 

Registration is $25/adults and $15/students or virtual. Friends of the Boy in Blue members receive a $5 discount on registration.
