It’s day two of U-S Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson’s Senate confirmation hearing. Senator Amy Klobuchar stressed the importance of the hearing and selection process…

“This moment bestows upon us a new opportunity to see one another again and to be part of our own Democracy and to respect each other’s rights and views to see that we are not a nation of 300-plus-million silos.”

On Monday, Jackson vowed to look at cases from a neutral, independent perspective. Jackson would be the first Black woman to ever serve on the nation’s highest court. If confirmed, Jackson would replace retiring liberal Justice Stephen Breyer.
