A program meant to recruit over a thousand certified nursing assistants in Minnesota is being considered a success. The state has brought nearly 13-hundred certified nursing assistant through a new tuition-free training program over the past few months. Officials launched the initiative in January as a way to deal with staffing shortages in long-term care facilities and veterans homes. Governor Tim Walz set the initial recruiting goal in January, which was reached this month. The initiative was funded by three-point-four million dollars from the federal American Rescue Plan.
