The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) is reminding Minnesotans that COVID-19 treatments are now widely available and can be accessed at many pharmacies, clinics and health systems across the state.

“While treatment won’t be for everyone who tests positive for COVID 19 It’s important for people who have underlying higher risk for severe illness that they are aware that they are eligible for treatment and are the most likely to benefit from treatment.”

MDH’s Sarah Lim says the treatments can help prevent severe illness, hospitalization and death from COVID-19, especially when taken early. Lim says people can be at high risk for many reasons, including being 65 and older, obesity, having chronic medical conditions or being pregnant.
