Opening Night Parade:

Be sure to arrive early!

The parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Friday, November 29 with a brief Lighting Ceremony to follow (est time 6:45 pm)!

This event is organized by MN and WI River Valleys Girl Scouts Greater Mankato Troop 34494.

The parade route runs along Mound Avenue starting at Rodgers St. and continues into Sibley Park, where it ends near the bandshell.

The lights display will open to driving traffic starting at 8 p.m. on opening night in order to ensure the safety of the large number of pedestrians in the area following the parade.

People attending the parade are encouraged to arrive early to find parking and to account for the possibility of trains crossing the streets in the area (Mound Ave. will be closed to traffic west of Hubbell Street starting at 5 pm until after the parade ends).

Bring lawn chairs and blankets for along the parade route, and be sure to dress your family for the weather! There will be extremely limited seating in the warming house near the end of the parade.

Parking is available in designated parking lots/areas on the backside of Sibley Park (Sibley Parkway) and the CHS parking lot (Woodland Ave.) On-street parking is also available. There is no parking along the parade route.

We’ll see you on Opening Night 2019! We would love to see you all there! (You might even be lucky enough to receive a free box of Girl Scout cookies along the parade route!)
